Grated potatoes
Wash the potatoes and grate the peel. Put the grated potatoes in the child socks. It will reduce fever and you child won’t feel uncomfortable any more.

 

Brandy and water
Dilute small amount of brandy in a cup filled with water, soak gauze with the mixture and put the gauze in the child socks.

 

  • Put a cool, damp washcloth on the forehead of your child while it sleeps.

Remove layers of clothing- this will enable your child to lose the body heat through skin. Dress your child with lighter clothes. But if your child shivers, just cover it with light blanket to warm again.
When your child is indoors your child should stay in a cool place and when your child is outdoors then it should stay in the shade.

 

When to call a doctor:

  • For children younger than 3 months old having fever
  • If the temperature rises to 100 degrees or higher in babies between 3 and 5 months old
  • If your child is up to 6 mounts and has rectal temperature of 102 degrees or more.
